Business Challenge
Antiquated payroll processing systems and redundant infrastructure led to inefficient and untimely payroll processing. The goal of the project was to analyze the payroll organizational structure, streamline and optimize the payroll processing function and define the performance metrics before defining the requirements, evaluating and selecting a new payroll system.
TSI’s Role
Examined existing payroll information systems, information requirements and operations. Analysis yielded recommendation to consolidate five payroll-processing centers into one centralized shared service center utilizing a single system.
Results
The project resulted in the identification and implementation of organizational and process improvement-related tangible savings approaching $1 million annually.
